OK so I just saw the movie "The Wackness" and it made me miss the 90s in NYC. The summers off, smoking in the park, of course 40s in the park, the beach, the parties, the skateboarding, the b-ball courts, the graffiti and of course the golden age of hip-hop. Because good hip-hop is a thing of the past, im going to try to post my favorite hip-hop songs from that era once a week.

Heres the first post, a little bit of the beaten track for some of you, but if youre a backpacker you'll know this one.

So I went here last night with a few friends and what a scene it was(at least for a restaurant). I expected bad food and poor service but it was actually probably the best burger I had in NY. Good job Lincoln. Anyway, after the late dinner we headed downstairs for some fun and the thing that impressed me the most was the two most popular songs of the night:




I was impressed because they were both old songs being revived by the 20yr old model/fashion types there who were too young to know these songs at all.. awesome.

ABINGDON, Virginia (SportsTicker) -- New York Giants running back
Ahmad Bradshaw remains in jail for an undisclosed
probation violation.

Bradshaw, 22, is serving a sentence at the Southwest Virginia
Regional Jail.

A spokesman for the jail told PA SportsTicker that said Bradshaw
voluntarily checked himself into the facility Sunday. He also
said Bradshaw will "serve a certain amount of time."

Bradshaw was sentenced to two years probation in 2006 for a
misdemeanor petty larceny charge while attending Marshall
University. He was charged with stealing a PlayStation game from
another student.

*** He doesnt look like genius does he? But wouldve thought he's be smarter than that. Hey Ahmad, i'll give you a PS3 game in return for your championship trophy.

The new lounge on top of the Roosevelt Hotel. The entrance through the bowels of the north side of the hotel is reminiscent of Highbar, but that's about where the comparison stops. The menu at M46 is pretty extensive -- typical bar/hotel restaurant fare, though we were just there for drinks -- though the drink menu's about on par with the other glut of rooftops opening and slightly less expensive. The space itself is quite a bit longer and narrower, but lacked the cabanas and more private-seeming tables that would lend themselves to bottling up. Bottle service itself, by way of comparison, seemed pretty cheap, coming in around $300 for most. Prediction? This will likely end up another 230 5th-styled crowd for the post-work banker set wanting to stick in the neighborhood (and get off street level at Beer Bar). Nothing too exclusive about the place. It will probably be very douche-baggy along with all the after work places in manhattan but whatever...enjoy the weather.
